HCG Diet Protocol – The Basics

The three diet phases are the following:

1. HCG diet phase 1

The first phase of the diet program requires dieters to eat food as much as they want to especially foods rich in fat. This is intended to generate a store of fat to fight off hunger pangs or headaches that may develop after going through the low calorie phase. This is also the time for dieters or weight watchers to start injecting HCG hormones into their body.  It usually takes two days for the hormone to be absorbed into the system.

2. HCG diet phase 2

The second phase of the diet is the most important. You must have a weight goal in mind. The second phase usually lasts between 26- 42 days. Unlike the first phase, this part of the diet requires HCG diet advocates to strictly follow the meal plan approved by the program. The HCG diet program is very food specific especially on the quantity that should be eaten and digested by the body. The program only requires you to consume 500 calories per day on a high protein, low-carbohydrate meal plan. The HCG injections will also continue for the same time period except for the final 3 days of the diet.  During those last days, weight watchers continue on the meal plan but stop the HCG injections.

3. HCG diet phase 3

The last phase of the diet is all about maintaining your weight goal. If you have already met your ideal weight, then you have more food choices to eat. The thought is to keep an eye on your weight and stay within two pounds of the ideal weight.

Can I take vitamins such as a pre-natal vitamin? Also the diet does not show what quantity of vegitables we can eat??
